How scoring works
Scoring follows the ESPN Tournament Challenge doubling model — each knockout round is worth twice the last.
Group stage (12% of max)
| Prediction | Points |
|---|---|
| Exact 1st place | +4 |
| Exact 2nd place | +3 |
| Exact 3rd place | +2 |
| Exact 4th place | +1 |
| Partial — 1st or 2nd pick is in actual top 2, wrong slot | +1 |
| Cap per group (max 10 → capped at 10) | max 10/group |
Knockout stage (80% of max)
Points double each round. Pick who advances — that's all that matters.
| Round | Matches | Points each |
|---|---|---|
| Round of 32 | 16 | +10 |
| Round of 16 | 8 | +20 |
| Quarterfinals | 4 | +40 |
| Semifinals | 2 | +80 |
| Final | 1 | +160 |
Third-place playoff is shown in the bracket but not scored.
Champion bonus (8% of max)
Pick the tournament champion before Group Stage brackets lock — if they lift the trophy, you earn +80 points. Separate from the Final winner pick.
Maximum possible score: 1,000 pts
Group stage 120 (12%) · Knockout 800 (80%) · Champion bonus 80 (8%)
